This Roman Pavlyuchenko to Fulham story seems to be gathering momentum. I thought nothing of it as a column filler in the Metro this morning, but it’s appearing on various websites and Spurs forums have been tipping a Fulham move for the Russian in the past few days.
I’d be very surprised if we spent such a vast sum of money on Pavlyuchenko, who is undoubtedly a quality player but is still struggling to speak much English. A loan would seem much more likely, but what would that mean for Fulham’s pursuit of Okaka? It would be a big move from Roy Hodgson, who only yesterday was quoted as saying he wouldn’t be panicked into splashing the cash on a replacement for the injured Bobby Zamora.
I think this is a good deal for Fulham, Pavlychenko isn’t ever going to set the world on fire as a striker but putting a brain dead leper from Botswana up front would be more effective that Zamora or Andy “sick note ” Johnson. You only have Clint Dempsey who looks ok in front of goal. I quite like Fulham as a team but my word you have some donkeys
The same Zamora who scored 11 goals this season? Isn’t that more than Eduardo and Bendtner put together?
I don’t know why you bothered to put this up. It’s clearly just paper talk.
Its always nice to hear from an enlightened Arsenal fan, always erudite and charming.
As for Pav, I couldnt see this coming off myself due to the fact that Harry wants to sell and we don’t want to buy. I am excited by Okaka myself!
how many players has Roy signed who haven’t already proved themselves in england, or at least speak English very well? None?
I would love this to happen. However I don’t think 11million he his worth. I had sort ofthought at around 8million. still I think this would be a good buy!
In reply to Rich: wouldn’t the likes of Andreasson, Stoor, Andranik, Elm possibly fit into that category. Not sure of their English skills, all have had difficulty breaking through.
