Antonee Robinson says he feels full of confidence this season – something he attributes to Fulham’s draw with Liverpool on the opening weekend.

The American international took heart from being confirmed as Marco Silva’s first choice at left back and believes that the Whites gained belief after showing they could match Jurgen Klopp’s men by taking the lead twice at Craven Cottage. Robinson told the Athletic’s Peter Rutzler:

“That result helped the whole team. We all came away feeling hard done by that we didn’t get a win. It helped our form. I feel a bit more confident this year. At the start of the season, it was up in the air what was going to happen. But the gaffer showed his faith in me.

I try to be hard to beat — every winger I’ve come up against, I’ve tried to make sure I get the better of them. Then, going forward, I try to help the team push us up the field and create chances.”
