Stefano Okaka looks set to join Fulham on loan until the end of the season, after the Roma striker’s agent said an agreement had been reached.

Domenico Scopelliti confirmed that successful discussions between Fulham, Roma and the 20-year-old forward had taken place and all that remains is for the Italian side to authorise the transfer.

Fulham have spoken to Roma so we can define all the details, but we have to wait for [director] Daniele Prade to return from Dubai. The player has given his go-ahead for the transfer and he is happy to take on such an important adventure especially give the fact that the coach has shown admiration in him.

Scopelliti says that, should the loan go well, a permanent move could be a possibility.

I think he will go on loan as the co-ownership does not exist [in England], but it could be a longer deal so he can adapt if he wants.

The Italian under-21 international’s chances of first team football at Roma receeded after the Giallorossi signed Luca Toni from Bayern Munich. Okaka impressed Hodgson during Fulham’s two games against Roma in the Europa League, scoring the winner in the Stadio Olimpico.
