Middlesbrough are interested in taking Fulham forward Rodrigo Muniz on a season-long loan, according to Brazilian journalist Vene Casagrande.
Boro and Fulham were in a summer-long battle for the Flamengo striker’s services last summer, which Marco Silva eventually won. Muniz scored five times in fifteen appearances during his first season at Craven Cottage following his £6m move, with his first-team opportunities limited by the exceptional goalscoring form of Aleksandar Mitrovic. The 21 year-old is likely to be even more starved of regular football with the Whites in the top flight – and Fulham are currently considering whether to loan the raw striker out to further his development.
A whole host of Championship clubs are said to be interested in getting Muniz but Middlesbrough’s long-standing interest in the striker could well give them an advantage.
I feel that this will be his year. Less pressure to perform and a premier league containing real defenders where brute force and aggressivity are not the only attributes requested. With some luck, i believe Muniz can have a good return and Mitrovic cannot be our only recognised striker anyways.
Why loan out Munez,we are thin on the ground regarding strikers as it is we made the same mistake with Kebano
Muniz needs experience in english football. A year or two away on loan will benefit us in a longer run!
Is Jay Stansfield ready to be the number 2 ? But in all honesty if an injury to Mitro occurred neither Jay or Munez in my mind fill the gap on a temp basis
Why is TK taking so long to bring players in,if he doesn’t want to pay the asking price then he should move on,take Leno of Arsenal 11 million is a fair price for a proven keeper, all he is doing is wasting precious time and then it will be a last minute scramble to get players in,just like the last season,is he that stupid that he can’t see it. All of the so called incoming players have been dragging on for months, other clubs don’t seem to have this problem, if TK can’t manage it then we have to get someone in who can,Marco must be pulling his hair out I know I am.
As the previous guy said maybe Muniz would get some experience playing against Championship defences on a regular basis Also tha Leno deal why are we dallying on this particular deal this as got Tony Khan written all over it, Leno is a top class goalie a proven Premiership player an International goalkeeper why ? are we so slow in doing transfers Marco Silva must be getting frustrated by all this come on TK for once in your life do something right and pay the money remember TK you have got a new Stand to fill and you won’t do that by buying crap Leno is a no brainer
