David Moyes has demanded Everton make progress in signing his number one summer transfer target – Fulham midfielder Sean Davis – this week.
Reports over the weekend claimed that Davis has asked for talks with the Fulham hierarchy regarding his future. The England under-21 international has already discussed Chris Coleman’s plans for the forthcoming season and suggested that he is looking to end his time in south-west London.
The 23 year-old is poised to be the subject of a bid of around £3.5m from the Toffees, which is rumoured to represent around half of Everton’s entire transfer budget. Fulham are reluctant to let their homegrown midfielder, who has played in every division for the club’s senior side, leave and apparently value Davis at £6m.
Moyes is hoping that Davis’ desire for a fresh start somewhere else could persuade Fulham to lower their asking price. If they do not, the Scot may turn his attention to the likes of Jason Koumas or Scott Parker as he seeks to strengthen Everton’s engine room.
