Fulham striker Brian McBride is set to sign a contract extension with London club.
The former American international has become a firm favourite with the fans since signing for the Whites in January 2004 and has established himself as manager Chris Coleman’s first choice up front. The veteran striker’s wholehearted displays and ability in the air make him one of the top flight’s most underrated forwards. He scored fourteen goals in 56 appearances in his first two seasons with Fulham – and is concentrating on extending his club career having retired from international football following the 2006 World Cup.
McBride’s eagerness to extend his current contract at Craven Cottage is largely down to his family being settled in London and the prospect of regular first-team football in the Premier League. Coleman has been hugely impressed by his professionalism and work ethic, which has set a fine example to the younger members of the Fulham squad.
