Chris Coleman knows Fulham will have to show defensive fortitude to see off Everton in this weekend’s FA Cup fourth round tie.
The Fulham boss wants his side to tighten up at the back as he knows David Moyes will be targeting their perceived weakness at set pieces.
“They’ve got very good forwards; they’re a strong team, very physical. I know that David Moyes concentrates on set-plays which has been a weakness of ours, so we are going to have to combat that. There’s been criticism of the defence lately, so it’s a great opportunity to go to Goodison Park against a good team and shut me up. If they keep a clean sheet they will have done very well. But it’s a great place to go and we’re looking forward to it.”
He is confident that Sean Davis, who came close to joining Everton in the summer, will be back to his best on Merseyside.
“He’d been out for three or four months and he was eager to please bearing in mind what had been said in the newspapers about him moving to Everton. I think he was trying too hard to be honest. But up at Newcastle he was back to his best. He’s a big influence at the training ground and in the dressing room. He’s grown up a lot which is a big plus for us. I don’t think he’ll disappoint me on Sunday, he’s a big game player.”
