Chris Coleman revelled in Fulham’s ‘horrible side’ after the Whites produced the perfect response to their tame League Cup exit at Wigan Athletic by beating Blackburn Rovers on their own patch yesterdau.
The Fulham boss had berated his second string following an exit to the Division One leaders in the League Cup for the second season in succession – suggesting that too many members of his squad had been on easy street in the north west. He feels his side applied those lessons successfully at Ewood Park and believes that bodes well for the future.
Coleman said: “Hopefully the penny’s dropped. We can’t just play our pretty stuff, we’ve got to do the horrible jobs as well. We’ve been doing that.”
