Fulham boss Chris Coleman wants to add some more firepower to his squad by concluding a summer swoop for Spurs striker Robbie Keane.
Tottenham haven’t given up hope of persuading the Republic of Ireland international to stay at White Hart Lane with Frank Arnesen planning talks once Keane returns from international duty. It is thought that the north London club will demand more than £6m should the 23 year-old decide to move on – and his value will only have risen after he scored a stunning goal to beat Holland in a pre-Euro 2004 friendly.
Fulham will face competition from Celtic for Keane’s services, with Celtic scouts having watched Keane in Rotterdam on Saturday night. The Londoners would likely find it easier to match Keane’s large wage demands that the Old Firm outfit.
