Fulham centre back Zat Knight could face disciplinary action after the Football Association asked for video evidence of an alleged head butt.
Blackburn boss Graeme Souness claimed the Fulham defender headbutted Rovers striker Jon Stead during the Whites’ 4-3 defeat at Loftus Road on Monday. Fulham manager Chris Coleman agreed that his defender had made contact with Stead during the incident in the 12th minute of an action-packed match, after which Stead fell to the floor clutching his face.
Knight escaped immediate punishment from referee Mike Dean and it wasn’t clear if the official had seen the incident but he could be set for a suspension if the video evidence shows an intentional headbutt on Stead.
An FA spokesperson confirmed that the organisation had requested video footage of the incident to inform a disciplinary investigation.
