Alex Kacaniklic is a major doubt for Fulham’s opening game of the season at Sunderland tomorrow.
The Swedish winger suffered a hamstring injury during Fulham’s pre-season friendly defeat at Werder Bremen and is struggling to prove his fitness ahead of the trip to the Stadium of Light. Martin Jol could also be without David Stockdale, who has been battling a thumb injury, but is likely to start summer signing Maarten Stekelenburg in goal in any case.
Adel Taarabt will probably start on the bench as he looks to build up his match sharpness following his loan move from Queens Park Rangers, whilst former Sunderland striker Darren Bent is unlikely to feature on his old stomping ground having only finalised his loan move from Aston Villa in the last few days.
