Fulham plan to make an £18million move for Lyon star Maxwel Cornet — the Ivory Coast ace who stunned Manchester City.
The Cottagers will open official talks with the French outfit shortly, after looking into a deal for the speedy and skilful forward in the summer.
Cornet, 21, was available as Lyon looked to cash in on their hot prospect.
Fulham felt the asking price was too high at the time but his performances since have made it look sensible.
The Premier League club base many of their moves on the player’s value and potential sell-on worth so now see Cornet as a smart investment. Ex-Metz youth Cornet is keen to come to the Premier League and Fulham would be an ideal stepping stone to an even bigger club down the line.
