Fulham may be tempted to move for Morgan Schneiderlin after the French midfielder was told he has to leave Southampton in order to save his international career.
French Under-21 coach Eric Mombaerts told the 20-year-old that he will need to move away from St. Mary’s to continue to feature in his squad.
Saints manager Alan Pardew wasn’t best pleased:
The hard part for me is when an international manager says players won’t be selected if they are playing in this division. It is a terrible thing to say and I don’t think it’s fair – it is insulting. My view is that Morgan should stay here at Southampton and concentrate on us.
Fulham have been linked with Schneiderlin in the past but Tottenham are also reported to be lining up a £2m offer. Schneiderlin has made 39 appearances for the Saints since joining from Strasbourg in June 2008.
