Simon Davies insists Fulham won’t be scared by the screaming Kop at Anfield on Saturday.
Liverpool might be something close to their former glory, but back-to-back wins have eased tensions at Craven Cottage as the Whites sit in the top half and just four points off sixth spot.
And after one of the best performances of the season against Spurs last Saturday, Davies thinks Fulham can relish travelling to the home of the title-chasers with nothing to lose.
“The beauty is, we’ve had couple of wins and we’re not desperate to get something,” he said.
“Anfield is one of the best places a player can play football, the atmosphere is a bit different there, and we will go and enjoy it.”
“A lot of teams have run them close at their own place. Wigan nearly got something so we can give it our best shot knowing that.”
Fulham’s home form has kept them in contention for a strong top-half finish but their grim, winless away record threatens to drag them into the bottom-half vacuum.
And Davies admits alarm bells rang when he looked at the fixture list prior to the Newcastle game and saw Liverpool and Villa away in quick succession.
“We saw we had two tough away games and realised that Newcastle and Spurs at home were two massive games for us,” he said.
“So it’s job done so far and we can go to Anfield with the pressure off and full of confidence.
“I’m sure we will take a few up there and they will make themselves heard,but it’s obviously going to be difficult for them,” he said.
“They will only have a small corner against the big Kop and 40,000 Reds, but it’s going to be a great game and one they can enjoy.”
