Jimmy Bullard will is facing eight weeks on the sidelines after dislocating his kneecap in Fulham’s 2-1 win at Newcastle on Saturday.

Bullard was stretchered off following a challenge by Scott Parker and it was feared he may have suffered a season-ending injury.

But Fulham physio Jason Palmer said: “Jimmy’s kneecap was dislocated but we reset it within 25 seconds. His X-ray shows no significant damage or fracture, which is very good news.”

Fulham manager Chris Coleman was quick to absolve Parker of any blame for the incident.

“To be fair to Scott Parker, he was a bit shaken up himself. It was a fair challenge, there was no malice in it at all,” said Coleman. Scott came in at half-time and he was obviously moved by it. Credit to him, full respect to him for doing that. It was not his fault, it was a normal challenge.”
