Fulham have made an offer for Bournemouth striker Josh King, according to various reports this afternoon.
The Whites are desperate to bring in a striker to boost their firepower as they battle against relegation from the Premier League and are also in talks with Bordeaux over a possible return to Craven Cottage for Josh Maja. King, whose Bournemouth contract runs until the summer, has been a long-term Fulham target who has also been interesting a host of Premier League clubs.
Various reports suggest that Southampton, considered the early favourites to sign the Norwegian international today, have dropped out of the race with Fulham’s major competitors likely to be Everton. The 29 year-old has scored 53 goals in 184 appearances for Bournemouth, but has made just thirteen appearances this season since refusing to sign a new deal at Dean Court.
Better to have another option but probably not a game changer signing.
So if we have money for a striker why didn’t we spend it 19 games ago? I just don’t understand why we’ve ended up here scrabbling around on deadline day with half the season gone. If we go down by a few points then I’m afraid TK will have to explain why it took him 6 games to recruit a defence and 19 to sign a striker. Don’t tell me there wasn’t the money because we spent it in the end.
