Fulham are one of a number of Premier League sides interested in signing Napoli defender Nikola Maksimovic, according to reports from Italy.
The 29 year-old centre back is likely to leave the Azzurri before the end of the January transfer window having failed to reach an agreement over a new contract with his current deal expiring in the summer. The Serbian international has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, who are far from certain to enter the market despite their central defensive injury crisis, and West Ham reportedly failed with a £14m bid in the summer. Tottenham have been credited with an interest in a Bosman move for Maksimovic should he wait until the summer to find a new club.
It is understood that Maksimovic would be available for around £9m. While Fulham’s number one priority in the closing hours of the transfer window will be bringing in attacking reinforcements, the ropey display of Scott Parker’s second string defence in the FA Cup defeat by Burnley last weekend might make a move for the former Red Star Belgrade centre half an attractive proposition.
The 6ft 4in defender, who has won 25 caps for his country, helped Napoli win the Coppa Italia last season and has fourteen first-team appearances thus season.
Just what we need! Another defender. Seriously?
How can you guys at HammyEnd take this crap earnestly enough to pass it on?
I know you probably feel obligated to report every piece of gossip but come on guys.
We, the fans, are hurting over this pathetic inactivity in this window. Why can’t you add your own disclaimer to your reports -as you did re the Dembele rumour?
We’re not getting the one type of player we need so why the hell would we be interested in yet another centre back to add to Ream, Hector, Odoi, Le Marchand, Mawson et al?
We’re building our very own centre back scrap heap!
Last night proved, yet again, that we are crying out for a decent striker and we will go back down because the Khans have, for some unfathomable reason, declined to support Parker in this crucial area. 15 goals in 19 games!
What’s being allowed to happen at Fulham Football Club is nothing short of criminal!
I totally agree with the above comment. We need a striker desperately. Can I suggest that you contact Tony Khan who, as Director of Football, needs to tell the fans why we as a club are apparently inactive in this transfer market. Could it be that the Khans are losing interest or that they are losing money because of the pandemic? It would be very interesting to find out
Totally agree with you two guys if we got no money why oh why are we going for another defender? Theplayers you mentioned are championship players and LeMarchand is not even a championship player Kongolo plays one and misses ten he’s our Darren Anderton how does Kamara get in above Kebano why do with always give away free kicks in crucial areas and no corners last night was embarrassing
When Mitro came on it gave us a bit more why did he not start and Tony Khan is an embarrassment to my Football Club the club I have supported all my life,The Family Club,The People’s Club, most football supporters second team, Speak to the Supporters Tony Khan and answer our questions.be a top man tell us the truth or do the right thing and resign Taxi for Mr Khan
Totally agree with Charles and Roy. In normal times you’d say wise move as we have no quality cover at CB, but, baring in mind we are absolutely desperate for a striker I really can’t be bothered to give this kind of pointless gossip any credit.
Let’s play him and Hector up front!
While I don’t rate Tony Khan as a director of football this transfer window is probably the most difficult on record, you only have to look to see how very few deals have been done so far in the Premiership. It was obvious in the summer that if Mitro was injured or suffering a loss of form we had no Premiership quality striker to both cover him and to create competition for the position. It was in the summer window that the total failure to sign an additional striker was made. Mr Kahn has made Fulham’s bed and now Parker has to lie in it as best he can.
When you’re young and you misbehave your mum will tell you to go and play with your toy[s] and you end up in making your bedroom a mess.
Well unfortunately for us Tony Khan is making a mess of our club. He is so big on statistics, however the biggest statistic of all is staring at him in the face(lack of goals) he is seemingly chosen to ignore.
Just remember when Craig Kline was with him and they wanted him and Slav to dress up in sumo wrestling outfits as a public relations stunt! That shows you the credentials of Tony.
And regretfully when we get relegated the first thing to discuss in the debrief is the removal of Tony Khan immediately.
Totally agree with all these comments. We seem to have had a number of bids rehected according to the press, but no word of hope/comfort from Khan a real dissapointment.
I agree with the Khan we need new stand , so it can stay empty because if we go down we will have no fans to fill it. BUT IT WILL LOOK NICE. Khans use your head.

If we don’t get any new striker in, I suggest Parker concentrate on a Mitro and Loftus- Cheek partnership. Both coming close. If they get that understanding we could have a goal fest, certainly if Mitro gets a confidence boost goal.
