Fulham are considering a loan move for Chelsea centre back Michael Hector, according to reports this morning.
Scott Parker and the Fulham hierarchy have made signing another centre back a priority as they look to strengthen their squad for another assault on the Championship this year. The Whites have already been linked with a host of Championship central defenders, including Brentford’s Erzi Konsa and Pontus Jansson of Leeds United, as well as defenders from overseas.
Hector, who is currently on international duty with Jamaica at the Gold Cup, is likely to be sent out on loan by Chelsea again this term. He has not made a single first-team appearance since move to Stamford Bridge from Reading in 2015. He has had sixteen loan spells during the course of career, the last of which was at Sheffield Wednesday last season. Fulham may face competition from the Owls for the 26 year-old signature, with Wednesday reportedly in talks with Chelsea over signing Hector on a permanent basis.
And the transfer window ends in a month with zero positive activity. Seems to me we’ve been here before. Unless something radical happens very soon, the best we can hope for next season is mediocrity. Another relegation dogfight with our players once again displaying no fight or commitment does not appear to be entirely out of the question.
I’m not filled with enthusiasm for this window with Tony Khan dealing with recruitment. More loans and players we’ve never heard of coming in. I suppose we at least have the bulk of the players that took us up last time though I’d be suprise if Sess and Mitovic will be around a month from now. We’ll see.
Here we go again. Hierarchy have no interest in attracting good players, they seem to ignore what the manager and indeed the fans want. Two clowns (the Khans) run the club and they appear to have no desire to see Fulham as a successful football club. A couple of months into the new season and if we are not in the top eight of the Championship, Scott Parker will be sacked and another season ruined. The Khans are a pathetic family who cannot be trusted!!!!
If we lose Sess and Mitovic we must invest it in new players A.S.A.P. Not sit on the fence waiting for the right deal, it’s called forward planning.
Our replacements must be street wise and not thrown together as before.
Supporting FULHAM since 1957.
Can’t believe some of the comments on here, please grow up and live in the real world.
Why do we keep letting these really good youngsters who come through our academy go for next to nothing instead of getting them to put pen to paper on a longer contract at least we would get a decent price if we have to let them go bad management I think
Need to balance the books first to meet Fair play before we buy. We need to move on a number of first team players first This season could be about rebuilding with Parkers aim to prevent us slipping through the leagues
Hold on Chaps. We haven’t sold anyone yet. We probably do only need a Centre Back.
The moaners never cease to amaze me. The Khans are investing in the club and actually care. Both Cairney and Mitro signed. The goal is to keep the core of talent that got us promoted together and bring on a few players. Business will be done right up to the deadline, so get used to it. Quit moaning.
