A little statistical analysis here that might add credence to Bobby Zamora’s suggestion in a recent interview that he’s being asked to fulfil a different role for Fulham this year.

He was quoted in an interview yesterday with the Daily Star as saying that his role in this Fulham side was ‘not all-out attack’ and that he was expected to help create chances for his team mates.

These figures from the Daily Telegraph show that Bobby’s actually made the most chances of any Fulham player this season (49). He’s closely followed by Simon Davies, proving that the Welshman remains underrated, and the excellent Danny Murphy. No other Fulham players make the top 50.

Whilst this doesn’t excuse his disappointing goal return, it does give an insight into why Roy has been so patient with Zamora.
