Good news from Finland this weekend.

We’ve spoken quite a bit of late about the prospects of Roy bringing a few youngsters into the first team in the near future. It must be getting close to crunch time for Wayne Brown, our young midfielder who has been in and around the first team squad for about a year now. A few eyebrows will have been raised when Brown was loaned out to a side in the Finnish league but thinking about it, Roy Hodgson will know the standard of Scandinavian football and this will be the perfect way for Brown to warm up for next season in England.

And Brown’s certainly started well. Though his team – TPS Turku – lost their first game of the season to our old Intertoto Cup opponents FC Haka, Brown scored the opening goal after four minutes. And Brown gave a brief interview afterwards to one of the papers, giving an insight into his own thoughts on his move and how things are going.
