Sky Sports are running excerpts of an interview this morning with Moussa Dembele in which they say he is ‘uncertain’ about his future at Fulham and that he is flattered by the reported interest from Everton.
Like Patrick Roberts, the French striker has a year left on his current contract and has yet to agree an extension with the club. However, the quotes are a bit more nuanced than some of the reporting suggests.
I am very flattered with the interest from top level clubs. I always want to improve, but I love Fulham and have respect for them. I will work hard to do my best.
I don’t know (if staying at Fulham is the best thing for me). I will take my time to make the right choice. I feel very good at Fulham, I know everyone.
I want to take the time with my family and agent and people around me to take the right choice.
A prolific goalscorer at youth team level since arriving from Paris Saint Germain in 2012, Dembele starred as Fulham’s Under 18 side reached the FA Youth Cup final in 2014. He was handed his first team debut in Martin Jol’s last match in charge against West Ham in November 2013, and has 18 appearances for the club, scoring two goals – both of which came in last season’s League Cup defeat by Derby.
Midfielder, not striker. & he’s from Belgium not France. C’mon
You’re confusing him with the older ex-Fulham player with the same name
