Today’s Sunday People reports that three Premier League clubs are ready to make offers for Bobby Zamora in January after his latest apparent falling out with Martin Jol.
The paper suggests that the Fulham manager told his England international that he would not be making the trip to South Wales on Friday after some sub-standard showings in training. Jol started yesterday’s defeat with Andy Johnson up front and Zamora, who has hardly enjoyed a fruitful relationship with the Dutchman since he took over at Craven Cottage in the summer, looks set to leave the club in the forthcoming transfer window.
Dave Kidd’s story offers nothing in the way of new, concrete information but concludes that Sunderland, Tottenham and QPR would be at the front of the queue for the former West Ham forward. Martin O’Neill has made a new striker his top priority in the New Year after replacing Steve Bruce at the Stadium of Light while Spurs could take Zamora back to White Hart Lane as out-of-favour Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is almost certain to depart in January. Neil Warnock is known to be a fan of Zamora, who would be guaranteed regular football at Loftus Road, something that would further his England ambitions.
Slow news days require filler but this is not up to standard. With AVB having the razor wit of a sausage why would anyone want to read dire fiction like this? Must try harder next time. D+
Dave KIdd being one of 3 People Fulham fans I cant imagine they’re just making this up. Zamora goes though these periods. we need him angry or happy, not shying away.
