Dear Santa,
As I have been such a good boy I have some things that I’d like for Christmas.
- A solid central defender in his mid-twenties with a lot of pace.
- Brian McBride reincarnated, we need to be able to replace him for many years to come. (A reincarnated Gerd Müller would work too)
- New stewards for Craven Cottage. Santa, we would love to have some people with half a brain working as stewards instead of the non-service minded, tribal like group of dimwits that are dressed in orange now.
- A new set of songs for the fans, we could use a lot of help in creating a better atmosphere at home and away.
- Either if you could give Lawrie Sanches some tactical knowledge or maybe replace him with a coach of the “Tigana breed”.
Merry X-Mas!
Yours Faithfully,
Nick the Swede

why oh why does everybody go on about tiganas era i have never watched such boring football in all my life we would pass the ball around about 20 times just to get out of our penaltyn area i remember when we played liverpool and they let us do just that for about ten minutes which we never moved out of our half and they dipossed us and scored with about three moves.we used to sing have a shot have a shot so dont tell me about tigana he couldnt make it in turkey either absolutley clueless
Dear Barrett,
agreed, it wasn’t the most efficient style of play, but it was very entertaining. I rather have that than the long ball style of today 😉
Barrett,
Certainly wouldn’t describe Tigana as clueless. Won loads of honours in France and put together the best season of football I’d ever seen (in Division 1). He wasn’t too bad in the Premiership, either, and took us to a Cup semi-final that (had we turned up) we might have won.
The time on the ball, the accuracy of the passing, the fluidity of the football – I think that’s what everybody wants to see. It’s a little more attractive and advanced than the hoofball that we’ve seen since.
