Roy Hodgson was understandly delighted after his Fulham side produced an outstanding performance to see off Manchester United 2-0 at Craven Cottage this afternoon.
Danny Murphy converted a first-half spot-kick after Paul Scholes saw red for handling Bobby Zamora’s goalbound header and Zoltan Gera sealed the win with an acrobatic finish late on.
Hodgson was a happy man afterwards.
It’s not often that you can beat Manchester United here at Craven Cottage, and it’s not often that I’ve seen the team play as well as we did in the first half.
Our performance was very good throughout. Hopefully now we can start trying to cement our position in the top half of the table an try and get ourselves up to maybe as many as 50 points.
We’ve got eight games left to play and we’re playing well, so we’ll raise our sights and try and make certain that we finish the season as well as we’ve been doing.
Good to see Roy set his sights a little higher as we look down from safely from the top half on the relegation dogfight. Who knows, if we can play as well as that between now and the rest of the season, we might well move a couple more places up the table.
Very nice Man Utd information. My favorite current player is Wayne Rooney.
I hope to be in Manchester for a game in the future.
I follow the news from the local papers in Mexico. Some games are on TV.
