Fulham are the favourites to sign highly-rated teenage centre half  Yusuf Akçiçek from Fenerbache, according to reports in Turkey.

Turkish daily newspaper Sabah reports that the Premier League side are keen to land the 17 year-old defender who has been starring for the Turkey under-17 side over the last year. Akçiçek has yet to make his senior debut for Fener and actually came through the Galatasaray youth set-up and is considered one of the country’s brightest young talents. He has yet to sign a professional contract and the Whites are increasingly confident that they will be able to lure him to Craven Cottage.

Akçiçek is currently representing his country in the UEFA U17 European Championship Elite round tournament. He played 86 minutes as the Turks were beaten by Germany in their opening group fixture on Wednesday and is expected to be involved against Spain tomorrow. The cultured centre back has also attracted interest from Zaragoza, Osasuna and Rayo Vallecano in Spain but is believed to favour a move to England.
