Nathaniel Chalobah is inching closer to a permanent move to West Bromwich Albion, according to a report from the Athletic this evening.

The Fulham midfielder had been linked with a loan switch to the Hawthorns last week and, initial discussions between the two clubs had included talks over a potential loan with an option to buy, but a permanent transfer looks most likely now. The one-time England international has struggled for game time at Craven Cottage this season, making only four appearances – one of which saw him sent off within seven minutes against Newcastle United in October.

Marco Silva is keen to strengthen Fulham’s midfield options with moves for Sasa Lukic and Sander Berge well under way.
