Fulham midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah is having a medical at West Bromwich Albion this morning ahead of a proposed deadline day move, according to the Athletic.
The 28 year-old will be arriving at the Hawthorns on a permanent transfer having struggled to make an impact at Craven Cottage since signing from Watford last summer. The England international made 22 appearances as the Whites won the Championship last term and fell further down Marco Silva’s pecking order with the signing of Joao Palhinha this summer. Chalobah has made just four appearances for Fulham this season – the last of which was as a stoppage-time substitute in the 2-1 win over Chelsea earlier this month.
He will be greatly missed!!
This is addition by subtraction, but we do need more options in the middle. With Onomah and Chalobah gone, we’re left with Palhinha, Reed, Pereira, and Cairney. Not enough cover. Suppose Bobby “Multitool” Decordova-Reid could play there, too, but it’s not ideal. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for the Lukic deal, but we’ll need one more.
