Tim Ream admits heading to his first World Cup with the United States is ‘a dream come true’ after being recalled to the national team squad at the eleventh hour by head coach Gregg Berhalter.

The 35 year-old defender, who is enjoying a splendid Indian summer at Fulham this season, has been included in the USA party for the finals on the back of his peerless Premier League displays having last featured at international level in the first qualifier against El Salvador back in 2021.

Ream told NBC Sport’s Pro Soccer Talk:

“It is a dream come true, something as boys we dream of. So to make it on the last try, the last hurdle, I am excited. It is one of those where you just keep plugging away. Just keep going. You never know, twists and turns, up and downs, life and football is a rollercoaster. But if you just keep going there’s nobody to stop you but yourself.”
