Fulham full back Kenny Tete insists the season is not over and done with as he seeks a first taste of silverware.

The Dutch defender, who returned to Marco Silva’s starting line up against Bournemouth at the weekend, was in an Ajax side that finished second in the Eredivisie for three successive seasons before falling short in several Cup campaigns with Lyon. He told Fulham’s official website that he is desperate to lift the Championship trophy:

“To be the winner of a league is always different, it’s really something. You’re making history, so I’m really looking forward to that. I want to be a champion. We want to get the job done at home. The fans were really positive in Bournemouth, and they know that we will do better on Tuesday.”

Tete knows that Fulham won’t have things their own way against Nottingham Forest at Craven Cottage tomorrow night.

“They are doing really well. Also in the cup they had a very good run. But I think we have to look to our own qualities and focus on our own game. We have to be champions, and with our quality I think we can do that.”
