Fulham midfielder Ollie O’Neill has been named in the Republic of Ireland under 21 squad to take on Sweden later this month.
The nineteen year old, naturally a central midfielder, has excelled in a left wing role for Steve Wigley’s under 23 side this season and scored on his under-21 debut as Jimmy Crawford’s side kept alive their hopes of reaching the European Championships alive with a narrow win over the Swedes in Dublin last November.
O’Neill has scored four goals and added two assists in eighteen league appearances for Fulham’s under 23s, who cruised to the Division 2 league title this term. The young Irish outfit take on Sweden on Tuesday 29 March in Boras.
