Bournemouth are now confident of appointing Scott Parker as their manager by this weekend, according to a report from the Evening Standard.
Parker has been locked in talks with Fulham over the past few days regarding a mutual termination of his current contract at Craven Cottage. Various reports last night suggested that these protracted negotiations had reached a breakthrough. Parker is apparently keen to leave Fulham following their relegation from the Premier League after a deterioration in his relationship with the club’s ownership and hierarchy.
The 40 year-old, who guided Fulham to promotion via the Championship play-offs in 2020, has long been coveted by Bournemouth. The Cherries had him on their shortlist to replace Eddie Howe but Fulham’s promotion to the top flight scuppered any chance of luring him to Dean Court. Parker is now the south coast club’s number one target to succeed Jonathan Woodgate, whose contract as Bournemouth’s caretaker manager expires at the end of this month, and they expect negotiations over personal terms and the composition of his backroom staff to be relatively straightforward.
So over this now. Just get rid asap so we can move on and focus on pre-season and our promotional campaign
I’m not particularly upset about Parker leaving but, and I can’t stress this enough, I REALLY don’t want Steve Cooper to take over. I have a few mates that are Swansea fans and all the things we complain about with Parker playing dull football are exactly the same things Swans fans moan about with Cooper.
Bilic is available! Wagner is available! I mean, at this stage Eddie Howe is available ffs!! If we end up with Cooper, I think it shows a lack of understanding of what type of football the fans want to see.
We want a manager who plays attacking football I hated the slow sideways and backwards passing which Parker made us play, we were far too slow going forward and the opposition defenders had so much time to stop our attack. Hurry up and get the right manager in so we are not playing catch up again.

Agree with Shaun. As much as i am overjoyed we won’t be playing Parkerball I’m not convinced about Cooper. That might be because I think we need a bigger name. Maybe he will be ok with our squad but realistically we need someone that understands the objective is to score more goals than the opposition and command the respect of the players. Parker thought the objective was to keep it tight and try and score if possible by boring the pants off everyone…and don’t tell me that was our way of playing in the Prem…we struggled to score goals in the Championship too which given our squad was criminal. I’d prefer Eddie Howe if I could choose. Whether he can work with the wrestling muppet though I’m not sure.
