Martin Jol signed Maarten Stekelenburg from Roma in June 2013 as a successor to Mark Schwarzer in the Fulham goal. The Dutch goalkeeper made just 21 appearances for the Whites, struggling with injuries throughout his time at Craven Cottage, and perhaps most memorably making a mistake that cost Felix Magath a win in his first game in charge at West Bromwich Albion. He left the club in June 2016 after a couple of loan spells.
