Fulham are considering a summer swoop for West Brom full back Liam Ridgewell.

Martin Jol alternated between John Arne Riise, Kieran Richardson and Matthew Briggs to varying effect at left back last season and Fulham may look to strengthen in that area of the pitch before the start of the new Premier League campaign. The versatile Ridgwell, just as comfortable at centre back, has made 45 appearances for the Baggies since moving from Midlands rivals Birmingham eighteen months ago.

Ridgewell, who was born and grew up in south east London, has just one year left on his contract at Albion and Fulham are considering the possibility of a cut-price swoop over the coming weeks. Jol has been promised a significant transfer kitty by new chairman Shahid Khan, who completed a £200m takeover of the club from Mohamed Al-Fayed last week.
