Dickson Etuhu has spoken of his delight to be back in Nigeria as he arrived tonight ahead of the Super Eagles’ African Cup of Nations’ qualifier against Rwanda.

The Fulham midfielder has been recalled to the national side by new coach Stephen Keshi having been dropped after Nigeria’s disappointing performance during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. After Nigeria’s failure to qualify for this year’s Nations Cup, Keshi turned to the 29 year-old, who has won seventeen caps for his country.

Etuhu, who was a late substitute in Fulham’s 1-0 win at Queens Park Rangers yesterday afternoon, has been acted to as a mentor to the eleven domestically-based players who have already been in an intensive training camp ahead of the game in Kigali on Wednesday. He was delighted to be back on international duty:

It’s gladdening to be back and we need all the concentration to return Nigerian football to the very top in Africa.
