The Daily Mirror announces rather abruptly that Fulham are set to bring in Derek Boateng on loan from Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk with a view to a permanent transfer.

Martin Jol was heavily linked with a move for the Ghanaian holding midfielder in the summer after he impressed during the Ukrainian side’s narrow aggregate defeat by Fulham in the Europa League qualifying stages. The 28 year-old, who began his career as a forward, has led a rather nomadic existence in the past few years turning out for five clubs in as many seasons. Boateng, who only joined Dnipro in June from Getafe, has won 30 gaps for Ghana and scored three goals for his country.
