During their club open day today, Fortuna Sittard have confirmed that they have taken Fulham’s Danny Hoesen on a season-long loan.

The 20 year-old began his professional career with the Dutch club, before moving to Fulham after a successful trial in the summer of 2008 for a fee of around £400,000. Hoesen had a brief spell on loan at HJK Helsinki last term that was cut short by a serious hip problem and returned to form and fitness with some impressive performances in Fulham’s reserves. Mark Hughes rewarded the Dutch youth international with a place on the bench against Sunderland in April and Martin Jol has sought to further his development with a stint on loan in the Jupiler League.
