Lork brought news of a surprise Fulham move for Carlos Kameni a few days ago and the Cameroon international goalkeeper has added some credence to the rumours by saying he is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Reports from Africa says Kameni is close to finalising a three-year contract with Fulham, which seems slightly surprising given Fulham’s strength in the goalkeeping positions. Mark Schwarzer seems set to remain number one, although David Stockdale’s development has been highlighted by his involvement in Fabio Capello’s England squads over the past year. Kameni stopped short of saying he’s on his way to Fulham but he would be open to a move to England:

I want to experience another league and I have some contacts in the Premier League. I would love to play there. It is a fantastic league and a competitive league for keepers.

Kameni joined Espanyol from Le Havre at the relatively early age of 20 and has established himself as one of La Liga’s top goalkeepers. Espanyol are believed to have put €4million price tag on the keeper, but it remains to be seen if there’s anything in the rumours. Let’s just hope it doesn’t spark another summer of Schwarzer to Arsenal stories …
