Fulham striker Bobby Zamora says he is ‘buzzing’ after being called up to the England squad for their Euro 2012 qualifier against Switzerland.

Zamora could feature in the Wembley clash on June 4th after he was included in Fabio Capello’s 26-man party in the absence of suspended Manchester United hitman Wayne Rooney.

The 30-year-old has not played for England since making his debut against Hungary last August, having spent five months on the sidelines with a broken leg.

And Zamora says he is delighted to end what has been a challenging season on a high note.

The striker, who returned to action for the Cottagers in February, said in The Sun: “It’s been a really difficult season.

“I’m delighted to be playing for Fulham again and now included in an England squad. I’m buzzing.

“It’s been the toughest time of my career but I had to stay positive and it’s great news the England manager has faith in me.”
