The moment we knew we were in trouble:

It was clear as early as the warm-ups what type of afternoon Fulham were in for. Having jogged out through the mist and towards the away-end goal, the first thing Pascal Zuberbuler did was stand over the muddy area in the middle of the six yard box and drop the ball. Splat, without a hint of a bounce – and the wry smile on the onlooking Mark Schwarzer’s face said it all. The phrase ‘the pitch was a leveller’ was made for surfaces like this.

Top stuff from Jamie as always.
