In his latest Eurosport blog, Danny Murphy talks about our hectic start to the new season.

The Fulham skipper says that the squad don’t have any targets set in stone for the new campaign, but clearly fancies a bit of a Cup run. There’s a warning not to take Portsmouth lightly tomorrow, although the boys are obviously quietly confident.

He has a few encouraging words about our new signings – especially Riise, who looks a really exciting prospect. Murphy also dangles the hope of further signings in the transfer window, which are certainly likely given the rumours linking Mark Viduka and Damien Duff fairly heavily to the Cottage over the last 24 hours.

Perhaps the most interesting part of the post, though, is the discussion of Europa League play-off tie against Amkar Perm. Anybody worried that we might do a Tottenham should be reassured his closing line:

We didn’t qualify for the Europa League to fail early on.
