Fulham have reportedly made an enquiry about the possibility of signing Sampdoria midfielder Daniele Dessena.
The Times reckons that Roy Hodgson has made the acquisition of a central midfielder before the start of the new season a priority. Fulham were knocked back by Christian Poulsen last week and Hodgson has now targeted the Italian under-21 international, who enjoyed a good European Championships in Sweden this summer.
Samp might not be too keen on letting one of their rising stars leave and would be likely to drive a hard bargain. Italian press reports suggested that he could be a makeweight in a deal for Napoli’s Maurizio Domizzi on Sunday.
