This morning’s Daily Star linked Fulham with a surprise move for Colombian striker Fredy Montero.
The 21 year old has won many admirers after starring in the Seattle Sounders’ debut season in the MLS. Montero has already found the net 15 times in the States and recently had a trial with Real Betis.
The Star touts Montero as a potential replacement for Bobby Zamora, who is expected to join Hull for £5m. Roy Hodgson’s list of forward targets also includes Peter Crouch (as we’ve already discussed tonight) and Pavel Brozek. Two rumoured signings are definitely off, though. Marcus Berg has signed for Hamburg tonight and Jozy Altidore, another youngster who made his name in the MLS, has joined Olympiakos on loan.
When did the Jozy deal become final? I’ve been on top of that and the last I saw, it went from a done deal to a snag.
Here’s something from Monday.

As for Montero, might be a good move a year from now. Despite all his goal scoring, I’m not 100% sold that he would be ready for Premiership football.
