Mark Schwarzer says he’s looking forward to the challenge of facing Liverpool at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The Fulham goalkeeper played a key role as the Whites grabbed a surprise point at Anfield earlier in the season and, buoyed by a brilliant performance against Manchester United last week, hopes that they can turn in another good display against Rafa Benitez’s side. He points to Fulham’s strong home record as a reason for not fearing anyone.

On Saturday we’re playing against Liverpool. We’ve drawn against them this season at Anfield and hopefully we can get a good result at home – we’re confident at home regardless of the opposition.

You want to play well against a team like Liverpool because they’re quite rightly regarded as one of the best teams in the world. We have a lot of respect for them but we want to get one up on them as well.

There are eight games to go and we’ve got some very difficult games to come and we’ll take each game as it comes but we definitely want to finish in the top half of the table. If we can continue our current form over the coming games who knows what will happen.

First, though, Schwarzer’s got a key international fixture to get through. Australia have just kicked off against Uzbekistan and you can catch the action live on British Eurosport or in a more work friendly form right here.
