David N’gog says he would rather stay at Anfield and fight for a regular place in the Liverpool side than be sent out on loan next season.

The young French striker has been linked with a loan spell at Fulham to aid his development as first-team opportunities with Liverpool have been limited by Rafa Benitez’s persistence with his favoured formation, which sees Fernando Torres playing as a lone striker.

N’gog, who has scored twice for Liverpool this season but has largely had to settle for substitute appearances, has insisted that – if it was up to him – he’d prefer to try and establish himself as a key member of the Anfield first team.
