Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has told his side they must forget about their 4-0 FA Cup hammering by Manchester United and concentrate on Premier League survival.

The hosts were outclassed at Craven Cottage as Carlos Tevez (2), Wayne Rooney and Ji-Sung Park fired United into the last four. But Hodgson believes the defeat must be a treated as a one-off – but has backed Sir Alex Ferguson’s side to claim a remarkable quintuple.

“What was a good cup adventure is over and in the 11 remaining league matches we have to get the requisite number of points to make certain our Premier League status is maintained.

“I’ve said it all along, and I won’t stop saying it until we are safe, that Premier League survival is everything for Fulham Football Club.

“And now we have to get back to business and do a professional job on Wednesday [against Blackburn] when we meet a team in our ballpark.”
