Disappointing news on the injury front.

The News of the World reports that Diomansy Kamara could miss the rest of the season with his troublesome knee injury.

They quote Roy Hodgson as saying:

We don’t pin our hopes on him as it was a very serious injury. The earliest he could train is February.

This is bad news because it reduces our options in the final third. Joe didn’t have a massive legion of fans at the club after a disappointing start last season but really proved his worth as the Great Escape gathered pace. He was brilliant when he came off the bench towards the end of our wins against Aston Villa and, of course, those two goals at Manchester City were so valuable.

I felt that Kamara could be an interesting partner for Andy Johnson up front or he could solve our problem position on the left. He’s played there before for both West Brom and ourselves and I think his pace could have made him a real threat.
