Apparently Luis Garcia is in line for a return to the Premier League. The former Liverpool player has fallen down the pecking order at Atletico Madrid and is now looking for a transfer. The Times names Blackburn and Spurs are the two clubs who are ready to give Garcia a second chance in English football, but also notes our need for a forward and claims that Roy might be interested in bringing the Spaniard to Fulham.
Even though this is filed under the ‘decent bets’ section of their window watch, I still would say that Garica to Fulham is something of a long shot. I did rate him highly though and was surprised that Rafa Benitez, especially with his love of all things Spanish, moved Garcia on so quickly. I don’t think he can play as the out-and-out centre forward that we might be searching for but, with apparently certain to leave Atletico in the January transfer window, this might be one to keep an eye on.
