Fulham goalkeeper Antti Niemi is determined to fight for his starting place at the club despite being linked with Liverpool.

The Finland international joined the Cottagers from Southampton in 2006 and has had a good two seasons with the club, but now finds his first team place under threat from new signing Mark Schwarzer.

The 36-year-old has been mooted as a replacement for the outgoing Charles Itandje at Liverpool to play deputy to Jose Reina, but is instead confident of fighting for his place at the London club.
