Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez will be forced back into the transfer market to combat the club’s injury crisis.

Brian McBride is set to be out of action until Christmas with a knee injury sustained in last week’s clash with Middlesbrough.

The USA striker dislocated his kneecap after scoring in the 2-1 defeat and has undergone an operation on the injury.

And forward Hameur Bouazza dislocated his shoulder in the same game and is sidelined for a month.

Sanchez has spent over £15million already this summer but will now up his search for reinforcements with just a week left of the transfer window.

He said: “We are looking for new players, I still think the squad is thin despite what has been said about how much has been spent.

“We lost seven first-teamers from last year and another couple of signings would certainly help the equation. We are looking for a big centre forward.

“He is having an operation and we expect him to be out until Christmas.

“He is captain, he is a centre forward who wins a lot in the air and is a big presence in the dressing room. So he is quite a big loss to us.”
