Celtic are lining up a bid for Fulham star Moritz Volz and are ready to offer a number of their big hitters in a bid to get him.
The versatile German, who can play on the right hand side of the defence or midfield, is one of the targets that Gordon Strachan is looking at to fill the void left by Joel Perrier Doumbe’s shock end of season departure.
Express Sport can reveal that Voltz, 24,was a target for the Hoops back in January but at that time Fulham boss Chris Coleman didn’t want to sell and they took Doumbe on loan from Rennes.
Since then he has left the Cottagers and new manager Lawrie Sanchez has made it clear that he doesn’t see the former Arsenal youngster in his long-term plans.
Fulham are looking for around £1.5 million for Volz but Celtic would prefer to try and engineer a swap deal and would offer the likes of Jiri Jarosik, Thomas Gravesen and Bobo Balde in part-exchange.
That way Celtic would be killing two birds with the one stop as they would be able to move on one of their big-earning fringe players and also give themselves more cover on the right hand side.
